1. Slaves are considered property and animals in the eyes of the law and any free person may discipline a slave who has erred, been insolent or who has been the least bit displeasing to the free, however please keep in mind the slave is another person's property and do not permantly mark, maim or slay them. The exception being if a slave strikes a free person which case the slave may be killed. All instances should be logged and immediately reported to the owner and the Adminstrator.
2. All slaves will show the utmost respect to all free persons, with no exceptations and shall never question or disobey a command given to them by a free person. there will be no slave thoughts..glares or any action that could be perceived to be rude to anyone. All free persons of Gor are skilled in perceiving facial expressions and any thoughts posted into a room will be considered readable and subject to repercussions accordingly. The ONLY way a slave's thought can be concealed is if you keep them to yourself.
3. A slave will always address a free person as "Master" or "Mistress" and never use their given name. To do so courts swift punishment.
4. Slaves are not permitted to legally own anything. This includes their clothing, name or collar. Gifts given them shall belong to their owner. The property of a free person who has been reduced to slavery is passed to their closest male relative. If no male relative comes forth, the property will be passed to the nearest female relative or to the city of KoRoBa. If this person is freed from slavery at a later date they have no legal claim on their former property.
5.. Female slaves must wear a visble token of their bondage at all times. Male slaves are not required to do so, however both are to be suitably attired in public at all times so not to offend the Free women of the city. The exceptions to this would be if the slave is under punishment or on the Streets of Brands.
6. A slave may not touch or handle a weapon without being ordered to do so. A pit slave must have written permission from his owner. If he wishes to train in the arena when his owner is not present. This does not apply to things such as cultery being used to prepare food while in the kitchen or in the case of the En'girl handling a whip or goad for the purpse of training another slave on her owner's chain.
7. Slaves are not permitted outside the city walls unless they are accompanied by a free person, even if its an NPC guard. Slaves attempting to leave the city without a free person will be stopped at the gates and returned to their owner's dwelling. Those managing to slip out unaccompanined or found elsewhere without a guard will be considered runaways so those of you who like to "slip" your guard keep this in mind.
8. Running away is a serious crime. A first offense will usually result in a heavy beating. Punishment for a second offense is not uncommonly hamstringing or death.
9. A child born to a slave is automatically considered a slave in the eyes of the law and becomes property of the mother's owner. Just because the collar is removed from the mother during labor and replaced after the child's birth does not make the child free.
